Why Meeting in Person Always Matters

Why Meeting in Person Still Matters

By Luis Ángel Montealegre

New technologies, virtual platforms, breaking borders through a screen and a device… it all sounds so ideal, so perfectly aligned with our times. And honestly, we love it. But it’s also fair to say that, in many ways, we remain traditional. A little vintage. A little classic.

You know better than anyone the importance of face-to-face relationships in our industry. Those moments of camaraderie, of looking each other in the eye, of offering support built on trust and truly understanding the other party’s needs. Moments where confidence is created and real, reliable business begins to take shape. And while technology brings us closer, it is simply not the same as being there in person.

That is why we continue to invest in strengthening bonds, in meaningful relationships, in laughter, shared moments, and the joy of being together in the same place. Because here, we don’t just do business, we build community. And above all, family.

At GKF Network and ULN Network, we are deeply convinced of the value of meeting in person in an increasingly digital industry. This is where our events play a fundamental role. Our gatherings are carefully designed to bring together the best of the best in the logistics industry, leaders, decision-makers and trusted partners who share the same commitment to quality, collaboration and long-term business.

Two flagship events, with proven track records and tangible results, support this vision: the Open LATAM Freight Summit, which will celebrate its fourth edition this April in Brazil,  firmly established as the most important event in the region ahead of Intermodal, and our Annual Conference, which will reach its tenth edition (yes, we’re celebrating an anniversary!) in a country rich in history and ancient culture: Morocco.

For us, both events represent hard work, but also deep satisfaction. Seeing our members achieve their goals, witnessing how they interact, connect, and generate real and secure business, is without a doubt our greatest reward.

The logistics industry is dynamic. Changes happen every day, and in a world of global markets, we can never know exactly what lies ahead. But one thing is certain: we will continue to be here for you. Committed to what is traditional, tangible, valuable, and close.

We continue to believe in the power of meeting in person.
We continue to believe in real business.
And we proudly remain people-first.
